Hello! I’m back and I have a few more beautiful weddings to share with you, along with some other exciting posts + a bit of a travel diary! After a busy first half of year I was ready for a holiday and super excited to go to America for a month in June. It was my first trip to the States and I absolutely loved it! Now I have the overwhelming but exciting task of sorting through all the photos I took while I was away, so I thought I’d share the journey with you.
It all began with the massive trek from Auckland to Boston. Honestly, I was quite stressed before I left home and I don’t think I fully relaxed, let go of my unfinished to-do lists and fears I had forgotten to get all my work done until I walked onto the plane and settled in for the flight. On one of my walks through the aircraft to stretch my legs I bumped into one of my old school friends Loren who happened to be on the same flight to L.A. as me. It was a lovely surprise, so nice to catch up and then face the panic of LAX customs together. We parted ways and I went on to Boston to meet my sister Esther who had flown in from London. We had an awesome couple of days together and then were joined by our sister Kate and brother-in-law Sam as well.
I was going to do one post from all our travels to Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Annapolis, Washington D.C., Salt Lake City and Los Angeles but I thought I break them up a little bit. Hopefully you don’t get too overwhelmed and maybe you’ll get some cool ideas for if you ever visit these American cities.

Exploring the Boston Commons + Freedom Trail Walk + Faneuil Hall marketplace –
It was much chillier than I expected in Boston- being quite far north closer to Canada, and I got a bit cold walking around so I had to buy this Boston hoodie to keep warm/embrace the token tourist look.
Exploring the city-
The Beacon Hill neighbourhood was definitely a highlight of Boston- we explored the cute boutiques, found some good cafes and walked up Acorn St, an early 19th century cobblestone street. The Boston library-
We loved Little Italy in Boston! We had an amazing dinner at an Italian restaurant one night and the cannolis (deep-fried pastry tubes filled with sweetened ricotta cheese) from Mike’s Pastry were incredible. Walking down by the river- So many pretty neighbourhoods!
We went to the Boston Aquarium and patted some stingrays! Pretty light in the park! Dunkin Donuts. Had to.I loved stumbling across random flea-markets, lots of treasures to look at!
We went to Harvard University which was super cool to see! Free library! Walks along the water + Fort Independence-
I spent nearly a week in Boston and honestly it was more than enough! Though a beautiful city rich in history, education and culture, I felt like a 3-4 day visit would be sufficient. From Boston we caught a bus to my favourite stop on the trip: New York!! It completely blew my mind and I can’t wait to share it with you very soon! xx
