If you didn’t know already, I live in a wonderful city called Auckland in New Zealand. I’m so lucky to live in this incredible country where there are lots of different places to explore and enjoy! Something I love about Auckland is there’s always something to do, see and TASTE.
Recently I’ve noticed my friends more and more coming to me for restaurant and cafe suggestions. I am in no way in expert in this area but I do love following the up-and-coming food scene in Auckland and checking out some of the new openings that seem to be popping up everywhere. I love reading reviews and following food/lifestyle blogs so I thought I’d share a couple of my favourites that might just give you some fresh inspiration next time it’s your turn to pick the restaurant or cafe…
Denizen. A beautiful magazine all about celebrating the art of living well. Look under their ‘Gastronomy’ tab for some tasty spots.
Concrete Playground (Auckland). They do some great reviews and I love all their ‘top lists’ like this one. The best suggestions for whatever kind of food or enterntainment you’re particularly in the mood for. Concrete Playground has specific sites for Wellington, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane as well as Auckland if those are your local.
Metro Eats. From the quintessential guide and critic on Auckland, Metro Magazine. This is where you’ll find the Best in Suburb lists and Top 100 of our foodie city. And the famous Cheap Eats list for the best under $20 meals in Auckland. Definitely a good last-minute go-to!
What’s Yummy in Auckland… This one I discovered recently and love it! It’s a blog by 5 gorgeous sisters sharing reviews of places they’ve visited in Auckland. The girls remind me a bit of my three sisters and I. Always down for a catchup over food and a caffeine fix!
Eat Here Now. With tags like ‘Rainy Tuesday Night’, ‘Annoying Large Group’, and ‘Impress People with your Backstreet Knowledge’ this one is great for finding exactly what you need for your hunger situation.
As you can probably tell I LOVE food and I always to love discover new places! Next on my list to visit are Odettes at City Works Depot, Misters in the CBD and the revamped Mt Eden village local Scarlett Slimms and Lucky. What are your favourite restaurant/bar/cafe haunts?
