Bridgewater Country Estate Wedding Photographer – Melissa + Jamie

Jamie and Melissa’s wedding at Bridgewater Country Estate was one of those classic summer days, hot, relaxed, and full of feeling.

Set just outside Auckland, Bridgewater Country Estate is known for its open lawns, native bush, and tucked-away ceremony spots. It’s a venue that doesn’t need much added to it, the setting really does the work.

With 50 guests and just one person each in their bridal party, their day felt intimate, easy, and very intentional.

A Summer Ceremony in the Bush

It was a scorcher. The kind of heat where everything slows down and the light sits perfectly across the grounds of Bridgewater Country Estate.

They chose a forest ceremony, surrounded by greenery and filtered light. Simple, beautiful, and completely in tune with the space.

Right after the ceremony, they stepped away together for a quiet glass of bubbles before joining their guests. I love this idea! A small moment to pause, that ends up meaning a lot.

Clean, Classic with Colour

Their styling was clean and classic, black and white tones paired with bright, playful florals.

The colour came through in the flowers, adding contrast without taking away from the simplicity of the day. It worked effortlessly against the greens of Bridgewater Country Estate and the summer light.

Personal Details That Mattered

Country music and cowboy hats were woven through the day, a nod to Jamie’s dad, who had passed away in the years prior.

He was a farmer, always in a cowboy hat, and it felt like a subtle but meaningful way to include him.

A Wedding Close to Home

I’ve photographed multiple weddings in Jamie’s family over the years, so being there for another one felt really special.

There’s something about already knowing the people and the dynamic, it makes capturing the day feel that much more natural.

Planning a Wedding at Bridgewater Country Estate

If you’re getting married at Bridgewater Country Estate, it’s a venue that works best when you keep things simple.

The mix of open space and native bush gives you so much variety without needing to go offsite at all. It suits couples who want something relaxed, nature-led, and close to Auckland.

If you’re planning your wedding here, I’d love to be part of it.
