Zoe and Daniel’s Auckland city wedding was simple, meaningful, and really well considered.
Zoe is a friend of mine, so it felt extra special to be there capturing it all. They’re a genuinely sweet couple, and the whole day reflected that, nothing overdone, just intentional and true to them.
A ceremony close to home
They were married at the Auckland Baptist Tabernacle, right at the top of Queen Street.
Both of their fathers are pastors, so they led the ceremony together. It was personal, relaxed, and honouring their faith in a beautiful way.
First look and portraits at Auckland Domain
They got ready separately with their bridal parties in the morning, then met at the Auckland Domain for a first look and photos.
It’s one of the best spots for an Auckland city wedding, greenery, glasshouse, brick, all within a few minutes of the CBD.
This is such a great way to make your day flow well, getting all the portraits done pre-ceremony, then there’s no need to leave your guests later.
Classic, clean, and a little bit editorial
The whole look of the day felt clean and timeless. Zoe’s dress, the soft greens, the setting, it all came together naturally.
Reception back at the Tabernacle
After the ceremony, everyone headed upstairs for a relaxed afternoon reception.
It felt warm, social, and easy. Heartfelt speeches, lots of yummy food and love all around.
Auckland city weddings, done well
This is the kind of Auckland city wedding I love photographing. Central, simple, and focused on what actually matters.
Good people, a bit of breathing room in the timeline, and locations that work without overcomplicating things.
Planning your own Auckland city wedding?
If you’re planning an Auckland city wedding, choosing locations that are close and work well together makes the whole day feel more considered and less rushed.
If that sounds like your kind of day, I’d love to hear what you’re planning.
