I’ve known and being friends with Renee since I was 18 years old, I’ve been blessed to see her journey over the years as well as have her as an amazing supportive friend too. So obviously I was overjoyed when Renee started dating Josh, fell in love and then got engaged. It’s always special when I get to capture a love-story that I have watched from the sidelines as it develops from the very beginning! You can see Josh and Renee’s engagement shoot at Piha beach here.
They chose Gracehill Estate in Auckland for their day. It was absolutely pouring with rain the day before and I scouted out a bunch of wet-weather photo options in preparation. However, in typical Auckland style it did a complete turnaround and turned out to be a super sunny, hot day for the wedding – except for the isolated raincloud in Muriwai at the end of our portrait session. Always expect the unexpected when getting married in New Zealand!
I had so much fun hanging out with Renee and Josh + all their friends and family for this special day. One of the first few weddings I photographed ever was for Renee’s sister Anna many years ago so it’s always nice to shoot another sibling’s special day, and I have come a long way since! I am so happy for these two and I wish them a lifetime of adventures, brunch dates and pure joy! Can’t wait to catch up with them when I am home! Enjoy xx
