This shoot. Wow. We had grand plans for the day: lots of preparation, many, many props (chairs, tables, fur throws, candles, table settings, lamps, crystals, flowers, etc.), an incredible rugged beach/farm/forest location and a fleet of gorgeous models and crew. Unfortunately the spastic, crazy Auckland Spring weather did not support us. After hours of hair and makeup and hauling carloads of set items down the beach in the sly sunshine, the skies took a turn for the worst and poured out a bit too much rain. Obviously this was not ideal and impossible to shoot in. So, we packed everything up and headed for a new location. Of course as we arrived the sun decided to come out again and we ended up shooting outdoors anyway but in a much more sheltered setting.
Even though this day was quite stressful, we had to ditch our plans and didn’t use even half of our set; we had an absolutely amazing team of people helping make it happen and I think the result was pretty good! These things happen, you live and learn and just have to push forward and make the most of it!
