On Tuesday night I had the privilege of photographing for my talented friend Joel Williams at the Summer 11/12 Party for his clothing label: Brooklyn Zoo. It was an fabulous, exclusive affair at No. 1 High Street full of good-looking people and ‘stars’ like Drew Neemia, Shannon Ryan, J. Williams and Colin Mathura-Jeffree. Coney Island, The Nickel Empire Collection is full of rich and raw designs, mixing materials like organic cotton, plum leather, velvet and merino. Brooklyn Zoo draws inspiration from the 20’s, 30’s and early 90’s in New York. The Empire State’s form, design, urban terrain, slang and culture influence the stunning collection. The party included complimentary VnC Cocktails, performances from talented musicians the Brooklyn Trio and Jesse Sheehan, some creepy clowns, an amazing runway show and plenty of good times. I had so much fun attending it and cannot wait to see what’s next for the label! Brooklyn Zoo Clothing is available for purchase here. The make-up for the show was done by the lovely Rebekah Banks and the jewelry is by Culet.
