Destination Travel Photographer – Bali, Indonesia 2017

It has been almost a year since my trip to Bali, this post has been a long time coming but I had SO many photos to go through. That took a while and I had other things to get done, ya know? Anyway, I absolutely loved Bali! The people, the food, the beaches- all so beautiful. I have tried to cut these down as much as I could but this maaaay be a long post. I’ll add in names of places to go/see/eat throughout. I’ll probably miss a few but hopefully this can give you a few ideas if you are planning a holiday or honeymoon in Bali. I definitely want to go back one day, there are a few things we missed, and so much more to explore. Also, praying for everyone in Lombok, Bali, and the surrounding islands affected by the recent earthquakes. As awful as this was, don’t let that stop you from visiting in the future (unless there is serious danger), the locals rely on the tourism industry so much and you will be helping them by visiting.

I stopped over in Brisbane on the way to spend some time with my sister and her family (eek I miss my niece and nephew so much!) then met up with my friend Brijana (also an amazing photographer) in Bali. My other gals Larissa and Kaitlin joined us a few days later.

First up, Seminyak:

Watercress Cafe-

Our AirBNB in Seminyak-

Cafe Organic-

Outside Motel Mexicola (went went here for dinner one night- definitely a must do for amazing mex food and a really fun vibe!). So many instagrammable spots in Bali- let me tell you!

Treats at Dough Darlings-

Exploring Canggu-

The Lawn Beach Club-

Old Mans-

Our next Villa in between Seminyak and Canggu. We stayed in a couple of places where we were lucky enough to exchange photos for a night or two accommodation which was amazing. This was called Villa Marene, a bit of a random location but a nice spot and super cute kiddies around.

Shelter cafe/Nalu bowls. Let me just say right here that I found it super easy to eat healthy in Bali, there are so many yummy, healthy spots and it is SO CHEAP. There are definitely unhealthy options too but, if you want to eat clean it won’t be too hard! I’m pretty sure we ate out for every single meal because it’s cheaper and easier + there are so many rad cafes and restaurants to try. You know how much I love food!

Uluwatu. My fave place we stayed in Bali, where all the best beaches are!

Padang Padang beach-

Uluwatu Surf Break-

Coco & Poke-

Single Fin-

Cashew Tree Cafe-

Bingin beach where we stayed-

Kelly’s Warung breky-

Dreamland beach-

Amazing sunset from our clifftop accommodation-

Melasti beach, one of our faves-

Yum Yum cafe-

Took some photos of each other cause that’s what photographers do when we holiday together…

Went back to one of our fave beaches- Melasti-

Green Bowl beach- we took some epic photos with Brijana’s underwater camera housing here, including this one, which you can purchase! Bri is such a talent and now my legs are secretly famous… woop!

Back in Seminyak to Bali Gypsy Villa– another fave!

Happy hour at Cabina Bali. This place is awesome and so many cute photo ops so of course we took plenty, sorry not sorry…

Bikini Restaurant for dinner! A must do! One of the more “flash” restaurants but still so affordable, gotta love Bali!

Kim Soo- amazing homewares (not as expensive as you’d think) and a beautiful little cafe too!

 Photoshoot time at Gypsy Villa!

La Laguna for dinner. This place was a magical gyspy wonderland. Still have deep regrets I didn’t take my camera, but here are a few iPhone snaps. It would make for an amazing wedding venue I reckon!

 Kynd-

Waterbom Bali- we had such a fun day here and did every single one of the slides, including the ones where you’re standing up and the floor falls out from underneath you!

Sisterfields-

On to Ubud. I only stayed in Ubud one night which I think was plenty. Probably a cool place if you’re super into the yogi scene but I much preferred being by the beach, in saying that, here are the highlights…

Tegenungan waterfall-

The Luwak Coffee Plantation-

 The Rice terraces-

 Yoga Barn for breky-

 Casual massive spider eek!

The Monkey Forest… they’re kinda gross to be honest, I probably wouldn’t do this again. Definitely don’t carry anything loose (bag, drinkbottle, food etc.) if you don’t want them to jump on you!

 Ubud markets-

 Alchemy cafe-

After this we headed back to Seminyak, hung out a bit and got dinner before my flight that night home via Brisbane! It was such an amazing trip and I can’t wait to get back one day + do even more exploring off the beaten track. I am totally happy to recommend places to eat, stay, good beaches, drivers etc. if you are off to Bali. Transport around Bali is really cheap and easy too.

Congrats if you made in this far in this post, I guess I could have split it up but I wanted to give you all the Bali goodness at once! All the images in this post are a mix of my Canon 5D and my old iPhone 6 (as you can tell from the varying quality!). You can check out Brijana’s work here! Also, follow my personal/travel Instagram account here for more goodness like this! I’ll end with a few insta-story memories for you, enjoy xx
