Vendors I Love: Cass Deller Design

I recently discovered Cass Deller’s work online and fell in love with it. Cass has many incredible creations including illustration, calligraphy, wedding stationery and brand designs. She is based on the beautiful Sunshine Coast of Australia which is clearly part of her inspiration for her bright, happy and tropical style. I love the recent collaboration Cass did with Postcard Swimwear creating a gorgeous textile print, perfect if you’re looking for a new honeymoon bikini I think! I asked Cass a few questions about what inspires her and her creative process…

What/Who inspires you creatively?
I’m constantly inspired by everything around me. Its hard not to be inspired these days when you are following amazing artist on Intagram or trawling the endless inspiration on Pinterest.
I’m inspired by people and artists who dare to be themselves, push the boundaries and don’t question what they are doing because of trends.
I’m also inspired by my coastal lifestyle and the relaxed, beachy vibe that Noosa exudes.

Describe what a typical day looks like for you?
Well as every artist and designer might tell you, each day can be quite different, although my typical day would be up at 6:30am, get ready, leave home by 7:15am and drive 15 minutes up the road to our coffee shop/design studio in Noosaville where my husband has been working since 5:30am 🙂 My day starts with some breaky, and answering emails, which usually takes me until about 9am. Then I get stuck into my design work. My clients and design work range from wedding stationery, to textile design, to packaging design to calligraphy….. the list goes on… so depending on what I have on, the day can be quite different. I usually spend the first half of the day glued to my iMac, so I can get all of my computer-based work complete. Then after lunch I usually spend time finishing off some calligraphy, or scanning in new designs, or sending out a few quotes. I finish in the studio at around 4pm, which gives me enough time to race home and fit in a nice beach walk with my hubby and our fur baby. Night time is when most of my watercolour work is created. This is the time when its peaceful and I can just get lost in my painting. Bed time is around 9pm, and then I look forward to doing it all over again the next day!

Three words to describe your brand?
Feminine / Creative / Passionate
Any advice for Brides-to-be?
Be true to yourself! Don’t follow the latest vintage or rustic trends, let your theming reflect you and your fiancés personality and style.
Your family and friends are celebrating you as a couple, so let your wedding day reflect exactly that, and you will have the most memorable occasion.
