Wanderlust

Like many adventurers one of the things I most desire to do in life is travel. I’m suffering a pretty bad case of jealousy and wanderlust at the moment with many of my friends and family off on exciting trips all over the world. Yesterday my sister Esther moved to London for a few years and I already have a sister living in Melbourne too. A lot of people I love have spread around the globe and I can’t help envy rising up when I hear of the experiences they have.

I have been to Australia several times, went on a French trip in high school to New Caledonia and was lucky enough to photograph a wedding in Rarotonga last year. This is the extent of my travel-life so far, these trips have been amazing and I haven’t even left this continent yet!

I absolutely adore my home in New Zealand, but I feel like as Kiwis we are born with this urge to explore beyond our little islands and see the far reaches of the earth. I believe travel changes your perspective, opens your mind and awakens your adventurous spirit! I have a few other priorities on my savings list at the moment but travel will definitely be on the horizon for me, I’m excited for all the experiences I’m going to have and I can’t handle the jealousy of watching others do it much longer!

Top left image from here. Other images include a stack of letters my Dad wrote to my Mum in the beginning of their relationship when he was away overseas (Did I hear you say “just like The Notebook!”), pretty cute huh? + my Dad’s old film camera he took with him. Travel is in my blood.

P.S. If you are getting married overseas and need a photographer, flick me an email, I would love to join your adventure! xx
